EUROPEAN PROJECTS
This year, LFEE is involved in a number of exciting European Projects, including: COMENIUS REGIO PROJECTBetween the regions of Perth & Kinross (Scotland) and Côtes-d'Armor (Brittany) A regional collaboration project between Scotland and Brittany to develop exciting new teaching material on CD-ROM based on storytelling. These original stories have been animated, using ICT and other more traditional animation techniques and recorded by native speakers. They are suitable for the teaching and learning of English/French at primary and early secondary levels. Whilst creating links and working partnerships between teachers, schools and local authorities in both regions, this project focused on trans-curricular and trans-cultural elements. All schools from the 2 regions have benefited from the project. Go to www.regioscotlandbrittany.net to view and download the stories. TWO-WEEK SHADOW TRAININGAs well as strengthening links between partner institutions, teachers can gain a greater understanding of school education in France, enhance their cultural awareness, refresh their language skills and exchange good practice. This is a fun, friendly and motivating course. STUDY VISITS BY EDUCATION INSPECTORSGroups of French Education Inspectors on a 5-day study visit to Edinburgh. They will visit local Primary and Secondary Schools, meet the Scottish Inspectorate and update their knowledge of the Scottish and English Education Systems.
