TRIPS TO FRANCE
For primary and secondary school pupils
Have you thought of enhancing your pupils’ enthusiasm for French language and culture by:
- Offering them the chance to explore aspects of French life and culture first-hand
- Giving them a chance to practise their French in real contexts and settings
- Developing a cross-curricular approach by linking the learning of French to other curricular areas
We can help you organise that perfect school trip in the beautiful region around Sarlat-la-Canéda in South-West France. Your pupils will experience French culture and way of life first-hand whilst enjoying the hospitability of our carefully selected residential centre. The Centre International de Séjour (CIS) is situated in the picturesque village of Salignac, Dordogneand is all geared up for you: it has 41 bedrooms, a swimming pool, 5 classrooms, a TV lounge, internet access and top French cooks!
Courses can be run in parallel for primary and secondary pupils.
Here is a selection of the activities we can offer your pupils:
- French language classes in the morning with fun language activities designed specifically for them. Activities will be organised according to the age and levels of the pupils in consultation with their teachers.
- Informal meetings with French pupils at the CIS. Your pupils will get a chance to establish links in a relaxed atmosphere and to pratise their language skills.
- A visit to the world famous pre-historic caves of Lascaux II.
- An afternoon canoeing on the river Dordogne, taking in all the famous sights (Beynac, Domme, Castelnaud, la Roque-Gageac).
- A visit to the Château de Castelnaud, a stunning medieval French fortress, overlooking the river Dordogne. This includes hands on activities, audio visual displays and a demonstration of medieval sword fights!
- A visit to the stunning Gouffre de Proumeyssac, also known as the “Crystal Cathedral”, with its spectacular stalagmites and stalactites.
- Pétanque, ping pong, volleyball and other sporting activities will also be organised.
